Small Business Web Design in Amesbury, MA and Across the Country
Fast, search-ready websites for local businesses, built in New England and deployed in markets nationwide, connected to a system that follows up on every lead that comes in.
AM Creative is a web design and digital marketing agency in Amesbury, Massachusetts. We build small business websites for local companies across the North Shore, the Merrimack Valley, southern New Hampshire, and southern Maine, and we work with clients across the country. Typical clients are professional services, healthcare and wellness practices, restaurants and retail, studios, and home service businesses.
Every site is built on WordPress with the SEO foundation in place from the start: clean structure, fast load times, service and location pages, and analytics connected before launch. Sites also connect to lead capture and automated follow-up, so a form submission or missed call triggers a response in seconds rather than hours.
Most sites launch in four to six weeks depending on scope and how quickly feedback comes back. Hosting, security, and backups are included. Plans are month to month with no long contract, and you own the site, the domain, and the content outright. Current pricing is on our pricing page.
More Than a Pretty Site
Websites Built Into a Complete System
Most web designers hand you a site and disappear. Ours connect to lead capture, AI follow-up, and ongoing SEO, so every visitor has a path to becoming a customer.
SEO in the Foundation
"SEO friendly" is a checkbox. We build sites as part of an ongoing SEO process, with structure, speed, and content strategy in from the start.
Connected to Your CRM
Form submissions go straight into your pipeline. Missed calls trigger instant text-backs. Our AI concierge responds in seconds, so leads don't go cold.
Designed to Convert
Every page is structured to guide visitors toward taking action. Clear calls to action, trust signals in the right places, and layouts that turn browsers into buyers.
The result is a website that actively generates business rather than sitting there. See how the whole system fits together.

Who It's For
What kinds of local businesses do you build websites for?
Any business that depends on people nearby finding it and picking up the phone. The build is the same underneath. What changes is what the site has to prove before someone commits.
Professional services
Law firms, accountants, insurance agencies, and real estate offices. These sites lead with credentials and real bios, and make it easy to start a conversation. People pick a firm on trust long before they pick one on price.
Healthcare and wellness
Dental, chiropractic, physical therapy, med spas, and counseling practices. Insurance details, new patient forms, and online booking come first. Most of the drop-off happens between interest and the booked appointment.
Studios and personal services
Gyms, salons, barbers, pet care, and instructors. Class and appointment scheduling sits at the center, with pricing clear enough that nobody has to call to find out whether they can afford it.
Specialty and B2B service companies
Equipment, logistics, cleaning, and technical service firms selling to other businesses. Sales cycles run long here. The site does the qualifying, so your team gets a lead that already understands the offer.
Home service businesses
Plumbers, electricians, cleaners, landscapers, and pest control. Service area pages, click to call, and estimate requests that take seconds. See home services marketing for the full program.
Building for a construction or remodeling company? Those projects have their own requirements, from project galleries to financing questions to long decision timelines. We cover them separately on website design for contractors.
Where We Work
Do you work with businesses outside New England?
Yes. We are based in Amesbury, Massachusetts and we build for companies across the United States. Plenty of our clients have never met us in person, and it has never been the thing that decided whether their site worked.
Local search runs on the same signals everywhere. A plumber in Ohio and a plumber in Massachusetts rank on the same handful of things: a properly built Google Business Profile, pages that name the towns they actually serve, reviews that describe real work, and a site fast enough to hold someone who found it on a phone. None of that requires us to be down the road from you.
What changes market to market is the research, not the method. In markets we know well we can skip a step, because we already know which towns feed which and who sits at the top of the map pack. Somewhere new, we do that homework at the start of the project instead of guessing at it. Either way the build is the same and the reporting is the same.
Where we are best known
New England is home. We have built and ranked sites across the North Shore and Merrimack Valley, including Amesbury, Newburyport, Salisbury, Haverhill, Ipswich, Beverly, Salem, and Peabody, plus southern New Hampshire from Seabrook and Exeter through Portsmouth, Derry, and Nashua, and southern Maine around Kittery and York.
If you are opening in a new state or adding a second location, that is a good reason to talk rather than a reason not to. Multi-location and multi-market builds need a page structure planned up front, and retrofitting one onto a single-location site later is the expensive way to do it. The search side is our local SEO program, which runs the same way wherever you operate.

FAQ
Web design questions, answered
How much does a website cost for a small business?
Custom builds from most agencies land somewhere between a few thousand dollars and the low five figures, depending on page count, how much content needs writing, and whether anything custom gets built.
We run monthly plans instead of one large upfront bill, which spreads the cost and keeps hosting, updates, and support bundled in. Current numbers are on our pricing page. The website costs less when it comes as part of a marketing package, since the build is a means to an end rather than the whole engagement.
How long does it take to build a website?
Four to six weeks for most sites. A tight three to five page site can move faster. Larger builds with lots of service pages or custom functionality take longer.
The single biggest variable is not us, it is how fast feedback comes back. Projects that stall almost always stall waiting on content, photos, or a decision on the homepage. We ask for what we need upfront so that does not happen.
Do I own my website?
Yes. The site, the domain, the content, and the analytics accounts are yours. If you leave, they leave with you.
This is worth asking any agency directly, because plenty of them build on proprietary platforms you cannot take anywhere. If a company cannot answer this in one sentence, that tells you something.
What happens to my current website and my Google rankings?
Your old site stays live until the new one is ready. Nothing goes dark during the build.
Rankings are the real risk in any rebuild, and the way they get lost is sloppy URL handling. We map every existing page to its new address and redirect it, so the authority those pages have earned carries over. Where an old page ranks for something valuable, that content comes across rather than getting rewritten from scratch. We watch Search Console for several weeks after launch to catch anything that slips.
Will my new website rank on Google?
The site launches with the technical foundation in place: clean heading structure, fast load times, proper markup, service and location pages, and Search Console connected.
That foundation is what makes ranking possible, not what makes it happen. Competitive local terms need ongoing work: content, reviews, citations, and links built over months. A new site with good bones will start picking up long-tail and branded searches fairly quickly. For the terms with real money behind them, pair the build with ongoing local SEO.
What platform do you build on?
WordPress for most builds. It powers a large share of the web, it is flexible, and it plays well with SEO tools and third-party integrations.
It also means you are not locked in. Any competent developer can pick up a WordPress site, which is not true of the drag-and-drop platforms that keep your site hostage on their servers.
Can I update the site myself?
Yes. Adding a blog post, swapping photos, changing text, updating hours. We build sites you can actually use and we walk you through it before handoff.
Plenty of owners would rather not touch it, which is fine too. Updates are covered under ongoing support if you would rather send us a text and have it handled.
I already have a site. Can you fix it instead of rebuilding?
Sometimes, and we will tell you honestly which way it goes.
If the foundation is sound and the problems are design, content, or SEO, optimizing what you have is usually cheaper and faster. If it is built on outdated technology, loads slowly, or fights you every time you want to change something, rebuilding costs less over two years than patching. We look before recommending either.
Do you build websites for businesses outside Massachusetts?
Yes. We are in Amesbury, Massachusetts, and we build for local businesses across the country.
A website build runs the same either way. Discovery happens on a video call, mockups get reviewed in a browser, and feedback comes back the same way. The only thing being local changes is whether we can come shoot photos of your work, which matters for some businesses more than others.
