HVAC Marketing That Fills Your Schedule
Local SEO, Local Services Ads, and lead follow-up built for heating and cooling companies, run as one system and tracked to the booked job.
AM Creative is a marketing agency based in Amesbury, Massachusetts that helps HVAC and home service companies get found online and book more jobs. We started in New England and we work with heating and cooling contractors across the country, because local search works the same way everywhere.
We run four things as one system: local SEO and your Google Business Profile so you show up in the map pack for your own towns, a fast website built to turn a visit into a call, Local Services Ads and Google Ads for calls this week, and AM Connect, our CRM, which texts back every missed call and follows up on every form.
We plan around HVAC seasonality so the schedule stays full through the shoulder months, and we report on calls and booked jobs rather than clicks. Plans run month to month with no long contracts, and you own your website, content, and ad accounts from day one.
Why doesn't your HVAC company show up on Google?
You built the business on quality work and referrals, not on search. So when a homeowner two streets over types "no heat repair near me," they find somebody else. Your customers trust you. Your online presence has not caught up.
Most heating and cooling companies fill that gap by buying leads. You know how that goes. The same call gets sold to three other contractors, half the callers are shopping price, and you are paying for the privilege of racing two competitors to the phone. Worse, none of it belongs to you. Stop paying and the calls stop that day.
Ranking is different. A strong local search presence keeps producing after the invoice is paid, and the calls come to you first because they came looking for you. That is the gap we close.
What does an HVAC marketing agency actually do?
Four pieces, built to work together. Most companies have two of them running through separate vendors who blame each other when the phone goes quiet.
Get found: local SEO and Google Business Profile
The map pack is where most heating and cooling calls start. We optimize your profile, keep reviews coming in, build out service and town pages, and go after the searches that end in a booked appointment instead of the ones that just look busy in a report.
How we do SEOConvert: a website built to make the phone ring
A homeowner with no heat in February gives you about five seconds. Fast load, click to call on every screen, emergency service front and center, and a quote form short enough that people finish it. Every page is yours, on WordPress, not a platform we control.
See our web designAccelerate: Local Services Ads and Google Ads
SEO takes months. Ads take days. We run Local Services Ads for emergency no-heat and no-cool calls, and search ads for tune-up and install promos, then shift budget between them as the season turns.
See our ad managementCapture: AM Connect follow-up
Most contractors do not have a lead problem, they have a follow-up problem. Missed calls get an instant text back. Forms hit the CRM in seconds. Review requests go out after the job. Nothing sits waiting while you are up on a roof.

Most heating and cooling companies do not need all five at once. Here is what each one covers so you can start where the gap actually is.
SEO for HVAC Companies →
Local search work built for heating and cooling: service and town pages, Google Business Profile management, and the authority building that moves you into the map pack.
Google Ads and Local Services Ads →
Paid search that fills next week's schedule. Local Services Ads for emergency calls, search campaigns for planned replacements, with budget shifting as the season turns.
HVAC Lead Generation →
Missed call text back, after hours coverage, and follow-up on quotes that are still deciding. Most shops lose more jobs here than anywhere else in their marketing.
HVAC Website Design →
A site built on the page structure search needs, fast enough to load in a cold basement on one bar, with the call button where a homeowner in a hurry will find it.
Review Management for HVAC →
Review count, recency, and responses all feed map pack placement and your Local Services Ads rating. We run the system that keeps them arriving steadily.
Local Services Ads, Google Ads, or SEO?
All three, in a mix that shifts by season. Here is what each one does and when it earns its budget.
What are Local Services Ads for HVAC companies?
Local Services Ads sit above everything else on Google, above the map pack and above search ads, and carry a Google Guaranteed badge. You pay per lead rather than per click, so you are not charged for someone who clicks and leaves.
They are the strongest channel for emergency work. A homeowner with no heat at 9pm is not comparing websites. They tap the first number with a green check next to it.
Getting them to perform takes more than switching them on. Google ranks Local Services Ads on:
- Review count and rating, pulled from your Google Business Profile
- How fast you answer, and whether you answer at all
- Proximity to the person searching
- Background check and license verification staying current
- How many leads you dispute, and whether Google agrees with you
That last one matters more than most contractors expect. Bad leads can and should be disputed, but accounts get flagged when disputes run high. We manage the disputes, keep reviews flowing, and pair Local Services Ads with follow-up so answer rate stays high enough to hold position.
When do Google Ads beat Local Services Ads?
When you want control over the message. Local Services Ads show your name, rating, and phone number, and that is it. Search ads let you sell something specific.
That makes them right for a spring tune-up promotion, a financing offer on a system replacement, or going after high-ticket install searches where the job is worth enough to pay per click. They also work for retargeting, catching the homeowner who priced a new system last week and went quiet.
The trap is bidding on repair terms against companies with deeper pockets and letting your budget disappear on clicks that never call. We keep search ads pointed at work with margin in it.
Why bother with SEO if ads work faster?
Because ads stop the day you stop paying, and organic rankings do not. Six months into a real SEO program, calls arrive that cost you nothing per click, and they keep arriving through the slow months when you have pulled ad spend back.
For heating and cooling, most of that value sits in the map pack rather than the blue links. Profile completeness, review recency, service area pages, and consistent name and address details across directories are what move you into the top three for "near me" searches in your towns.
Expect three to six months before it carries real weight. That is why we run ads alongside it rather than asking you to wait.
How do you know which marketing is booking jobs?
Cost per lead is easy to make look good. Cost per booked job is not.
Call tracking ties every call to the campaign, keyword, or profile that produced it, and AM Connect follows it through to whether it turned into work. When Local Services Ads are producing at half the cost per booked job that search ads are, we move the money. Our take on measuring marketing ROI goes deeper.
Turning Long-Standing HVAC Reputation Into Digital Growth
Kealey's has cleaned ducts and dryer vents on the North Shore since 1994, almost entirely on referrals. When they came to us they were running a GoDaddy site with no analytics, no call tracking and no CRM, so there was no baseline to measure against. We built one, then rebuilt the website around the searches that book jobs, took over the Google Business Profile, and put AM Connect behind it so no missed call goes unanswered.
1,814 to 22,911 monthly Google impressions between September 2025 and March 2026.
Average position 39.4 to 16.0 over the same six months, with "dryer duct cleaning" at 1.9.
Crossed one hundred reviews at a perfect rating in May 2026, on an automated request that fires after every job.
Three of sixteen inquiries in May 2026 arrived through AI search, second only to organic.
"In the last four months since we aligned ourselves with Jon and his company, they have built a beautiful and advanced website and their hands-on approach to fine tune our marketing is dramatically noticeable."
Brian Kealey, Owner, Kealey's Duct & Dryer Cleaning, Salisbury MA
The timing mattered as much as the work. We built content and location pages through the winter, while competitors went quiet, so the rankings were already in place when spring demand arrived. Their Salisbury page went from position 11.8 to 8.7 and onto page one, and by July the air duct pages had climbed as far as 31 positions in towns like Hampton and Amesbury.

Heating and cooling demand is not flat, so the budget should not be either. Here is how we move it through the year.
Spend on ads, ride the rankings you already have
When it is ten degrees or ninety, the phone rings on its own and the job is to catch more of it. Local Services Ads take most of the budget because emergency callers tap the first number with a badge next to it. This is the worst time to start building content, since anything you publish now takes months to rank and peak is already here.
Sell the tune-up, pull ad budget back
Demand softens and cost per click drops with it. Search ads beat Local Services Ads here because you can advertise something specific, a tune-up or a financing offer, rather than just your name and rating. Maintenance agreements sold now are the pipeline that carries the slow months, and they turn into replacement quotes when a tech finds a system near the end of its life.
Build the thing that takes months to work
This is the part most companies get backwards. They cut marketing when the phone goes quiet, which is exactly when the compounding work should be happening. Service and town pages, review volume, authority building and local SEO all take three to six months to mature. Published in the slow stretch, they are ranking by the time the weather turns. Published at peak, they arrive late.
We have watched this play out. One client built location and service pages straight through a New England winter while competitors coasted, and their search impressions jumped 133 percent in the single month spring demand arrived. The full numbers are here.

HVAC marketing questions, answered
How much does HVAC marketing cost?
Our core program, Web Presence & AI Search Growth, starts at $1,597 a month. That covers the website, local SEO and Google Business Profile management, AI search visibility, AM Connect, and reporting with written analysis. One-time setup runs $500 to $1,500, scoped on the call.
Where you land above the starting figure depends on how crowded your market is, how many towns need their own pages, and what shape your current site is in. Ad management is a separate add-on, added once the foundation is catching calls properly. Ad spend goes straight to Google or Meta rather than to us, and a dense metro costs more per click than a rural county. Full breakdown on our pricing page.
What are Local Services Ads and are they worth it for HVAC?
Local Services Ads run above every other result on Google with a Google Guaranteed badge, and you pay per lead instead of per click. For emergency heating and cooling work, they are usually the highest intent channel available.
They are worth it if you can answer the phone quickly and your review profile is healthy, because Google ranks them heavily on responsiveness and reviews. If calls go to voicemail during the day, your position drops and you are paying for leads you never convert. That is why we set up follow-up before we turn them on.
Can I dispute bad Local Services Ads leads?
Yes. Google refunds leads that are outside your service area, for a service you do not offer, spam, or a booking that never happened. You submit the dispute from the Local Services dashboard.
Two things worth knowing. Disputes have a filing window, so they need submitting promptly rather than at month end. And accounts that dispute a high share of leads can get scrutinized, so the goal is tight service area and job type settings that prevent bad leads rather than a habit of disputing them after. We handle the settings and the disputes as part of ad management.
How long does HVAC SEO take to work?
Ads bring calls in days. Local SEO usually shows real traction in three to six months, sometimes faster if your website and Google Business Profile are already in decent shape.
The order it tends to happen in: profile and technical fixes register within weeks, impressions climb before clicks do, map pack movement in your closest towns comes next, and the outer edges of your service area come last. We report monthly so you can see it moving before the phone reflects it.
How do I market my HVAC business in the off-season?
Use the shoulder months to bank pipeline instead of going dark. Push maintenance agreements, keep review volume climbing, and stay in front of past customers so you are the first call when the weather turns.
The slow stretch is also the right time to build content and service area pages, because that work takes months to mature and you want it ranking before peak season, not during it. Our seasonal HVAC playbook goes deeper.
Do online reviews affect where my HVAC company ranks?
Yes, more than almost anything else in local search. Review count, average rating, and how recently you earned them are among the strongest map pack signals, and they also determine your Local Services Ads position.
They are usually the last thing a homeowner checks before dialing, too. We set up an automated request that fires after a completed job, so reviews keep arriving without anybody chasing them.
Do you only work with HVAC companies in New England?
No. We are based in Amesbury, Massachusetts, and we work with heating and cooling contractors across the country.
Local search behaves the same way in Massachusetts as it does in Texas. The town names change and the season shifts, but a homeowner with no cool air searches the same way everywhere. Working with us from out of state means video calls instead of a visit to your shop, and you send us job photos instead of us shooting them. Everything else runs identically.
What makes AM Creative different from other HVAC marketing agencies?
Three things, and you can check all of them before you sign.
- You own everything. Website, domain, content, ad accounts, from day one. Leaving costs you nothing but time.
- No long contracts. A short initial commitment while the system gets built, then month to month. We have to earn the next month.
- One team, one system. Website, SEO, ads, and follow-up under one roof, so nothing falls between vendors and nobody blames the other guy when the phone is quiet.
We also report on calls and booked jobs rather than impressions, and if the work is not producing at ninety days we will be the ones to say so.
